Chemical confined space safety measures
Case history Cosma SpA

Cosma SpA, part of the CFM group, is one of Italy’s leading chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing sites, with a production capacity of over 130,000 litres. In such a complex and high-intensity environment, it was crucial to ensure the safety of operators accessing stainless steel reactors during maintenance and inspection activities.
How to manage chemical reactors challenges?

The confined spaces, interference with the production process, and the presence of 18 reactors in series made it essential to find a safe, ergonomic and replicable solution. Genesi Protection technical team analysed the operating conditions and identified the main risks.
The intervention of Genesi Protection
Through four stages of intervention, Genesi created a tailor-made access and rescue system.
The solution was replicated on all reactors, ensuring operational uniformity, risk reduction and easier, more effective procedures.
